The Pursuit of Happiness (2018) is an augmented reality poster exhibition, exhibited at Bromfield Gallery (Boston MA) in October 2018. The exhibition featured more than 70 letter-pressed American presidential campaign slogans. It was exhibited at Bromfield Augmented reality brings to life the sometimes-unsettling and often-preposterous words of American political leaders from the past 200 years. As a whole, the posters portray the evolution of American values and inject a bit of humor into our current political climate.
In the summer of 2018, from growing exhaustion and lack of understanding in our current political rhetoric, Rettig and Hodara began researching the history of Presidential campaigns. This research concluded in the production of more than 70 letter-pressed American presidential campaign slogans. We then used augmented reality to bring to life the sometimes-unsettling and often-preposterous words of American political leaders from the past 200 years. As a whole, the posters portray the evolution of American values and inject a bit of humor into our current political climate.
